Like I mentioned last week, I will be at a meeting tomorrow during sixth period. Below you will find a detailed plan for what you will be expected to do in class.
1. Do Now: Media Use Over Time
Have someone pass out the handout with the bar graph. On the handout you will see the total media exposure as presented in the study for the years 1999, 2004, and 2010. There is space in this handout for you to include your weekday and weekend total (graph it and add the number on the bar graph if it exceeds the allotted 12 hours). Leave the class average section blank, when I get back on Tuesday I will provide that information for you.
-When you are done filling in the graph please update your table of contents to say: Media Use Over Time (p. 3 RIGHT SIDE OF THE PAGE).
-Then on page 2 (THE LEFT SIDE PAGE) answer the following reflection questions:
*How much time do you spend using media everyday?
How big of a role does media play in your life?
You will write for 10 minutes, then pair share and a few volunteers will share-out.
2. After this, please update your table of contents in the Notes and Activities section.
