Your Interactive Student Notebook is your 9th grade ELA survival guide.  
This notebook will help you:
  • Organize your notes.
  • Keep all your work in one place.
  • Color code your notes to help you remember them later.
  • Study for all tests!
  • Improve your critical thinking skills.


Rules:
  1. Keep it organized!
  2. Update your table of contents to include the date, assignment, and page number. 
  3. Everything is taped or glued.
  4. Highlight your notes. 
  5. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to make up the assignment.
  6. Leave your notebook in class, unless you have an assignment or need to review.
  7. Use pen (any color as long as it is not neon). Use pencil for images/art.
  8. Be creative! Be neat!


Setup:
3 Subject notebook, College-Ruled.
Your notebook is divided into three sections:
  1. Notes and Activities - All your Cornell Notes, close reads, and activities will go in this section.
  2. Words Worth Knowing -All of your vocabulary and literary terms will go in this section. 
  3. Writing - In this section you write do nows, short stories, reflections, poems, and essays. 


Right Side - Teacher's side
  • All lecture notes, vocabulary, new information.


Left Side - Student's side
  • Process page.
  • This is where you experiment with new knowledge.
  • Reflections + Processing activities for right side page.
